JICA Chugoku: Activity Updates from Active Participants in JICA programs
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

When you hear “Hiroshima,” you may think of the atomic bombing. At JICA Chugoku, we provide peace education for participants in JICA programs to reflect on peace. We also arrange activities for those who have mainly attended university to explore Japan and its culture. Below are recent reports by participants. We will continue updating this page, so please check back. Please be sure to visit the Chugoku region next time you come to Japan!

Introducing JICA’s New Videos: Interview Video | Young Lives in Kenyan Slums: Poverty, Discrimination, Injustice (JICA Ogata RI)

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

JICA Ogata Research Institute conducts socio-legal qualitative research on the lives of young people living in Nairobi’s slums. This interview video features Yuko Shem Okoth, CEO of Grassroots Walkers, who himself grew up in a slum. Through his personal reflections and experiences, the video sheds light on the everyday realities of poverty, injustice and discrimination faced by youth in slums, while highlighting the significance of the Institute’s ongoing research.
