Autumn has arrived in Japan, bringing cooler air and golden rice fields. It’s a season of harvest and reflection—and a perfect time to share updates from JICA’s activities across Japan and the world!

◆ 2025 Rice Harvesting!
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Tsukuba is Japan's largest science city in which has approximately 160 research institutes, including national and private sector research and academic institutions.
JICA Tsukuba was established in 1980 to implement Knowledge Co-Creation Programs in collaboration with such research institutes.
As a JICA center that is open to the local community, JICA Tsukuba offers to the Japanese citizens rice planting and harvesting festivals such as opportunities to exchange with JICA International Participants.
On September 13, JICA Tsukuba held its annual Rice Harvest Festival! JICA participants had joined local residents in harvesting rice together. The event was filled with warm smiles and meaningful interactions.

The Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV) program’s participants have built trust-based relationships with people in partner countries. As the program marks its 60th anniversary in 2025, more than 57,000 JOCVs have been dispatched in total.
